PROVINCE OF PESARO URBINO

The Guide Turistiche delle Marche group is very glad to suggest the following compilation of itineraries to discover the Marche through many different points of view:

 

Urbino

The important UNESCO town of Urbino is also the hometown of Raffaello and it is overlooked by the imposing building of the ducal palace, the symbol of the power and the prestige of Montefeltro family and heart of cultural and touristic life of Urbino modern town.

 

Pesaro

Pesaro is an elegant seaside town of the Marche region is on the Adriatic sea, surrounded by the green countryside and by the nature reserve of San Bartolo whose hill embraces the spectacular Flaminia bay. Walking down the beautiful piazza del popolo, it is possible to remark the ducal and Baviera palaces, while, the house of the most illustrious Pesaro’s citizen ,Gioacchino Rossini, is placed not very far from the town’s heart. The cathedral, the ancient tavern “La Guercia” enriched by paintings and mosaic, the Giulii gardens and the Vaccai small house, are worth visiting.

 

Fano

The roman town of Fano Fortunae of Vitruvian memory, lives again through its beautiful old town, real jewel of the Marche region’s heart, that is deeply linked to the sea. Starting from the arch of Augustus up to the local typical fishermen’s quarter “El Gugul”, and going on towards the tower houses and the Malatesta palace with its large and remarkable art gallery, the town of Fano reveals its truest city soul.

 

Gradara

The small village of Gradara identifies itself with its fortress whose imposing architecture, witness of the Paolo and Francesca love story, overlooks the nearby surroundings.

 

Montefabbri

A small village plunged into a charming old-day atmosphere whose main peculiarity concerns small buildings located close by one another. Strolling through its picturesque narrow lanes, you can experience the typical life style of times past.

 

Mondavio

Located on the top of the hill, the small town’s plan corresponds to the 16th -century architectural canons concerning the renaissance town. The well-balanced combination of the fortress town hall and church is the pivot of the entire town.
